%20who%20had%20recently%20started%20dating%20each%20other%20after%20a%20rather%20nasty%20divorce%20-%20from%20each%20other.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20dating%20went%20well,%20they%20remembered%20why%20they%20had%20fallen%20in%20love%20in%20the%20first%20place.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20moved%20in%20together%20and%20that%20went%20well.%20%20Whatever%20problems%20they%20had%20encountered%20when%20married%20seem%20to%20have%20disappeared.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20a%20few%20years%20had%20gone%20by,%20they%20re-married.%20%20It%20was%20a%20small,%20quiet%20ceremony%20and%20all%20of%20their%20friends%20were%20thrilled%20that%20they%20were%20firmly%20'back%20together'.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20divorced,%20again,%20less%20than%206%20months%20later....%20This%20one%20nastier%20than%20the%20first.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHad%20they%20just%20lived%20together%20they%20would%20probably%20still%20be%20together....%20Unlike%20us...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20long%20as%20I'm%20tripping%20down%20memory%20lane,%20how%20about%20some%20retro%20food?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20grew%20up%20in%20a%20very%20small%20town%20with%20very%20limited%20employment%20opportunities.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20mother,%20my%20sister%20and%20I%20all%20worked%20at%20the%20restaurant%20at%20various%20points%20in%20our%20respective%20lives.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20one%20works%20in%20a%20restaurant%20one%20eats%20in%20said%20restaurant%20and%20one%20gets%20bored%20with%20the%20food%20in%20said%20restaurant.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20a%20favorite%20stand-by%20-%20not%20on%20the%20official%20menu.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EConsider%20this%20restaurant%20comfort%20food.%20(I%20did%20say%20this%20was%20a%20small%20town%20restaurant,%20remember)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECut%20the%20onions%20into%20thick%20slices.%20%20Fry%20them%20in%20the%20butter%20and%20oil%20in%20a%20large%20skillet%20until%20well%20browned%20and%20starting%20to%20crisp%20around%20the%20edges.%20%20Move%20to%20the%20side.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDivide%20the%20beef%20in%20half%20and%20very%20gently%20form%202%20large%20patties.%20%20Do%20not%20press%20together.%20%20To%20be%20honest,%20all%20I%20did%20was%20cut%20the%20packaged%20beef%20in%20half....%20%20Add%20patties%20to%20skillet%20and%20fry%20until%20done%20to%20your%20liking.%20%20We%20like%20medium%20rare,%20so%20it%20was%202%20minutes,%20flip,%201%20minute.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETop%20with%20cheese%20and%20cover%20briefly%20to%20melt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETop%20with%20onions,%20pour%20yourself%20a%20beer%20and%20eat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDead%20easy,%20not%20gourmet,%20not%20healthy....%20Delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20can't%20always%20be%20good.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
