%20as%20it%20was%20loaded%20with%20topping.%20It%20had%20the%20usual%20lettuce,%20pickles%20(I%20don%E2%80%99t%20recall%20if%20there%20was%20a%20tomato%20on%20there%20or%20not)%20plus%20caramelized%20onions%20and%20beets.%20By%20the%20way,%20beets%20are%20really%20good%20on%20a%20burger!%20Of%20course%20that%E2%80%99s%20coming%20from%20a%20guy%20who%20likes%20beets.%20For%20this%20particular%20Australian%20burger%20you%20required%20both%20hands%20to%20hold%20it%20all%20together.%20Ever%20since%20that%20experience,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20topped%20hot%20sandwiches%20with%20lots%20and%20lots%20of%20stuff!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20problem,%20I've%20never%20owned%20a%20bottle%20of%20bourbon.%20No%20worries%20(that%E2%80%99s%20what%20the%20Aussie%E2%80%99s%20say),%20I%20used%20beef%20stock%20as%20a%20substitute.%20Just%20saying%20the%20work%20%22bourbon%E2%80%9D%20brings%20visions%20of%20the%20south%20so%20I%20went%20with%20a%20hickory%20flavored%20barbecue%20sauce%20to%20pump%20up%20the%20southern%20flavor%20factor.%20The%20recipe%20also%20called%20for%20store%20bought%20coleslaw.%20I%20always%20find%20that%20stuff%20to%20creamy%20for%20my%20liking.%20Instead,%20I%20purchased%20bagged%20coleslaw%20and%20added%20just%20enough%20store%20bought%20coleslaw%20dressing%20to%20give%20it%20some%20flavor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEven%20though%20I%20dried%20out%20the%20pork%20and%20the%20buns%20were%20a%20tad%20stale%20the%20toppings%20were%20incredible!%20They%20saved%20the%20sandwich.%20As%20for%20my%20music%20experience,%20I%20was%20listening%20to%20the%20radio%20while%20cooking%20and%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20recall%20many%20of%20the%20songs%20played.%20The%20one%20song%20I%20did%20remember%20was%20%E2%80%9CBlister%20In%20the%20Sun%E2%80%9D%20by%20the%20Violent%20Femmes.%20Why?%20Because%20the%20song%20references%20%E2%80%9Cbig%20hands%E2%80%9D,%20which%20is%20exactly%20what%E2%80%99s%20required%20to%20eat%20any%20hot%20sandwich%20when%20you%20stack%20it%20high%20with%20some%20fantastic%20and%20flavorful%20toppings!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20are%20your%20favorite%20sandwich%20toppings?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBig%20Hands%20Pork%20on%20a%20Bun%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstruments%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELyrics%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeason%20pork%20strips%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper.%20Heat%20oil%20in%20a%20heavy%20skillet%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%20Add%20pork%20and%20cook%20just%20until%20cooked%20through,%20about%202%20minutes.%20Remove%20pork%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReduce%20heat%20to%20medium-low%20and%20add%20onions%20to%20skillet.%20Saut%C3%A9%20until%20golden%20brown,%20about%208%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20beef%20broth.%20Cook%20and%20stir%20up%20browned%20bits.%20Add%20barbecue%20sauce.%20Stir%20until%20sauce%20thickens,%20about%202%20minutes.%20Add%20cooked%20pork%20to%20sauce%20and%20cook%20until%20heated%20through.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMound%20pork%20with%20sauce%20on%20bun%20bottoms.%20Top%20with%20coleslaw%20and%20bun%20tops.%20Wrap%20your%20hands%20around%20the%20sandwich%20and%20enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVolume:%20Makes%202%20Sandwiches%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Kitchen%20Roadie%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebrent@cookapalooza.com%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
