Ingredients

Cost per serving $0.28 view details
  • 4 x bananas unpeeled
  • 6 ounce good-quality semi-sweet chocolate
  • 6 Tbsp. lowfat milk or possibly heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp. Kahlua or possibly other chocolate liqueur (optional) Tropical fruit or possibly exotic flavored sorbet or possibly frzn yogurt Fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Directions

  1. To make the chocolate sauce, put the chocolate, lowfat milk or possibly cream, and Kahlua in the top of a double boiler and place over simmering water to heat the chocolate. Stir to combine. Sauce will thicken as it cools. Put the unpeeled bananas under the broiler or possibly on a grill. Broil or possibly grill till the skins turn jet black and become blistery. Cut off the stem and the bottom and then peel off the skin. You want to serve the banana hot off the grill.
  2. Put the hot bananas on each of four dinner plates. You can serve the banana whole or possibly cut it into slices. Serve with a scoop of sorbet or possibly frzn yogurt. I like coconut sorbet or possibly ginger ice cream. Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the hot banana. Garnish each plate with a mint sprig.
  3. This recipe yields 4 servings.
  4. Suggested Wine: Pinot Gris from the Ponzi Vineyard
