Diablo Dust (Chile Powder) Recipe
I make this in large batches and use it anywhere chile powder is called for. If you can't get the ingredients in your area and need help, contact me.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Gephardt's Chile Powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne powder
- 1 tsp. Mexican oregano
- 2 tsp. Hungarian paprika
- 2 tbs. cumin powder
- 1 tbs. seasoned salt
- 1 tbs. ground pepper
- 2 tbs. guajillo powder or chipotle powder
- 2 tbs. ancho chile powder
- 1 bay leaf , crushed
Directions
- In a skillet, smoke all the ingredients, except garlic powder an bay leaf, until fragrant.
- Add garlic powder and bay leaf to a jar with the other ingredients and shake until mixed.
- Store for 4-6 months.

Love the addition of ancho's. They have a flavor kind of like spicy raisins :-)I've cooked/tasted this recipe!
