Simple family tacos

Ingredients

  • 1lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 head of lettuce
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded mexican cheese blend
  • 8 taco shells
  • Low fat sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Taco Seasoning:
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp each of: cumin, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Simple family tacos

Time: 10 minutes prep, 10 minutes cook
Servings: 4
 

Directions

  1. Mix together all taco seasoning ingredients in bowl or cup and set aside
  2. Brown turkey in oil - make sure you use a wooden spoon to break up turkey while cooking
  3. Add water and seasoning and mix
  4. Bring water to boil
  5. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes
  6. Chop lettuce and tomatoes, place in separate bowls
  7. Place cheese in a bowl
  8. Heat shells at 325 degrees for 5 minutes
  9. Assemble your tacos!

          I love tacos! :)
          I make my own fillings and would sometimes improvise with the sauces and dressings. This is something I could try soon.
