Very good and so easy to make! I was asked to bring an apple pie to our family Thanksgiving celebration and since I do great fillings and not so great crust- I was looking for an alternative. Found this site through searching for recipes using COMSTOCK apple filling. Did not have coconut so omitted that. I did make a few alterations-sprinkling some nutmeg and cinnamon on top of the brown sugar of which I had almost doubled. I also had two cans of comstock filling and wanted to be sure there was enough fruit and the one can looked too skimpy so I used two cans. Then I did not measure exactly but I know I added more than the called for chopped pecans. Everyone raved about it! Some wanted it plain, some wanted it heated to eat a la mode with yummy vanilla bean ice cream and others had it with a dollop of the fresh whipped cream I had just made up to go on the pumpkin pie that was also being served. Excellent recipe and will add to my collection. Very fast and easy to make!
    I've cooked/tasted this recipe!
