Ingredients

  • 2 x Minced onions
  • 8 x Carrots, peeled and cut into 1/2 in. slices
  • 4 x Celery stalks, sliced
  • 3 c. Frzn hash brown potatoes
  • 1 c. Frzn corn kernels
  • 1 can Slice mushrooms, liquid removed
  • 1 1/2 lb Skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1 in. chunks
  • 2 can Condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 c. Chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 pkt Frzn peas, thawed
  • 1 c. Buttermilk baking mix (Bisquick)
  • 1/3 c. Water

Directions

  1. Turn crockpot on HIGH setting while preparing ingredients. In crockpot, combine onions, carrots, celery, frzn hash browns, corn, mushrooms, chicken, soup, chicken broth, and pepper. Mix well. Cover, reduce heat to LOW setting, and cook 6 hrs. Stir in peas. To make dumplings: Mix together baking mix and water till well blended. Drop spoonfuls in 5 or possibly 6 mounds on top of chicken mix. Cover and cook for 30 min. Uncover and cook for 15 min longer.

    I'm making this for a potluck at our church. This month we made it a crock pot potluck.
    I don't of anyone who doesn't like chicken and dumplings. This is cheep to make and taste good.
    what more can you ask for?
