Apple Bars Recipe

Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking pwdr
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 c. quick cooking oats
- 1 1/2 c. diced apples
- 1/4 c. minced nuts
- 1 c. confectioner's sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla water
Directions
- Cream together first two ingredients. Beat in Large eggs. Sift together and add in to mix flour through nutmeg. Stir into mix quick cooking oats through minced nuts. Spread in greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake at 375F. for 25 min.
- ICING: Mix together confectioners sugar, vanilla and sufficient water to make a spreading consistency; drizzle over the cake/bars.
