Recipe Summary & Steps

Panagam is a traditional drink made during Sri Rama Navami and Navratri. While the regular version is made with Jaggery, Pepper and Cardamom, this variation has Sukku (Dry Ginger) instead of Pepper.

Ingredients:

  • Jaggery – 2 tblsp, grated
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Jathikai (Nutmeg) Podi – a pinch
  • Sukku Podi (Dry Ginger Powder) – a pinch
  • Cardamom Powder – a pinch

Edible Camphor – a mustard sized piece

Method:

1. Add the jaggery to the water and stir until dissolved fully.

2. Strain and add the other ingredients.

3. Mix well and serve at once.
