Fried Kembung (Mackerel) With Assam Sauce

Ingredients

  • For fish
  • 4 preboiled ikan kembung/mackerel – rinse with water and pat dry
  • For Assam sauce:
  • 2 tbsp assam/tamarind - add some water and squeeze out the juice.
  • 1 inch ginger (chopped)
  • 1 medium size onion (chopped)
  • 4 chili padi (chopped)
  • 3 kaffir lime/limau purut leaves (shredded)
  • A pinch of salt.
  • 1 tsp sugar.

Time: 20 minutes prep, 15 minutes cook
Servings: 4 person
 

Directions

  1. For fish
  2. Deep fry and remove from oil.
  3. For sauce
  4. Combine all these ingredients and stir to dissolve salt and sugar.
