Ingredients

  • 6 med apples
  • 1 x (16 oz) can whole cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp grnd nutmeg
  • 1 x recipe for double crust pastry

Directions

  1. Method:1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a pie plate with pastry.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  3. Combine apples and cranberry sauce in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  4. Combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add in to the apple mix. Mix thoroughly. Turn filling into the pastry lined pan. Cover with top crust. Crimp edges. Cut slits in top crust.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or possibly till the crust is golden and the filling bubbly.
  6. Makes 1 - 9 inch pie
  7. Great dessert for Thanksgiving.
