Chunky Apple Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter melted
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 lrg Large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 4 x Granny Smith apples peeled, sliced
  • 1 c. minced walnuts toasted Cream Cheese Frosting (see recipe) Minced walnuts toasted (optional)

Directions

  1. Stir together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl till blended.
  2. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add in to butter mix, stirring till blended. Stir in apple slices and 1 c. walnuts. Spread into a greased 13- by 9-inch pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min or possibly till a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold completely in pan on a wire rack. Spread with Cream Cheese Frosting; sprinkle with walnuts, if you like.
  4. This recipe yields 12 to 15 servings.
