Chicken With Walnuts (Pule Me Arra)

Ingredients

  • 1 x chicken - (abt 1 1/2 lbs)
  • 6 c. water Salt to taste
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. shelled walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 6 x garlic cloves crushed Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste

Chicken With Walnuts (Pule Me Arra)

Servings: 6
 

Directions

  1. Simmer chicken in water seasoned with salt to taste till tender, about 1 hour. Remove chicken from cooking water, reserving 1 c. stock. Cold chicken slightly, then cut into 4 portions. Heat 2 Tbsp. butter in large skillet. Add in chicken pcs and saute/fry till lightly browned. Remove chicken pcs and keep hot.
  2. Add in remaining 2 Tbsp. butter. Add in flour. Cook and stir till lightly browned. Add in reserved stock, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to boil. Add in walnuts, vinegar, garlic and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer over low heat till heated through, about 5 min. Spoon sauce over chicken pcs.
  3. This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
