Ingredients

  • 1 x 3-lb. Chicken
  • 8 x cloves Roasted garlic, mashed
  • 1 Tbsp. Dry rosemary
  • 1 tsp Dry thyme Fresh grnd black pepper to taste
  • 1/3 can Soda or possibly beer

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat the grill. Rub the outside of the chicken with roasted garlic, rosemary, thyme, and black pepper.
  2. 2. Stand the chicken on the beer can, legs down, with the can inserted into the bird's cavity. Then stand the "canned" chicken on a low grill, over indirect heat.
  3. 3. Close the cover of the grill. Cook the chicken for 1 1/2 hrs, rotating it a bit every 20 min.
  4. 4. Remove the chicken when the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F with an instant-read thermometer. Cold the chicken 10 min before removing from the can and carving.
  5. Serves 4
