Caramel Pretzel Bites

I love sweet and salty . . . . . and caramel . . . . . and chocolate and this bite size treat is the absolute perfect combination of all three. The only time consuming part of this entire process is unwrapping the Rolo candy. And to tell you the truth, that is mostly because I unwrap 3 and eat 2. I dare you not to! This is the perfect treat to transport to a tailgating event if you can keep your family out of them long enough to pack them up in a container.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 ounces) chocolate candy coating (chocolate bark)
  • 100 mini pretzel twists
  • 50 Rolo candies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Unwrap all 50 Rolos before you begin. Place 50 pretzels on a cookie sheet and place 1 Rolo candy on each. Place in oven for 3 minutes. Remove and place the other pretzel on top of each Rolo/pretzel and press down to “smash” the Rolo. Let them cool completely.
  3. When they have cooled and the Rolos have are set up (you can put them in the fridge to make this go faster) , melt the chocolate candy coating in the microwave according to package directions. Remove from microwave and begin to roll each pretzel/Rolo bite in the chocolate. Set on a sheet of waxed paper or back on the cookie sheet. They will be completely hard and set in approximately 40 minutes.
