Baked Cinnamon French Toast

Ingredients

  • cooking spray
  • 6 slc bread (white, 6 whole grain or possibly raisin)
  • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 3 lrg Large eggs
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. maple or possibly table syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract fruit, for garnish optional

Directions

  1. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange bread slices to fit in single layer in dish; sprinkle with cinnamon. In a bowl, beat Large eggs with lowfat milk, syrup, butter and vanilla just till blended. Pour proportionately over bread. Bake immediately or possibly cover and chill several hrs or possibly overnight. Preheat oven to 350 F. Bake uncovered 30 min or possibly till hard to the touch. Garnish with fruit. Serve warm, with additional syrup.
  2. NOTES : It is important to arrange bread slices in single layer. If recipe is increased, use another baking dish.
