Ingredients

  • 4 clv garlic - peeled
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1 c. pineapple juice
  • 3 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 1/3 c. packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 x lemon - juice of
  • 1/2 sm onion - chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. Jack Daniel's whiskey
  • 1 Tbsp. crushed pineapple
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Slowly saute/fry garlic cloves in extra virgin olive oil over low heat till tender; set aside.
  2. Bring water, pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar to a boil, stirring constantly, then reduce heat to low.
  3. Press sauteed garlic with the flat edge of a knife to create a paste; stir into sauce along with remaining ingredients.
  4. Simmer sauce for 45 min, stirring occasionally.
