Swedish Three Layer Bars

Ingredients

  •     First Layer:
  • 1 c. Butter
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Cornstarch
  • 2 c. Flour
  •     Second Layer:
  • 4 x Egg beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1 lb Brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 c. Walnuts minced
  • 8 ounce Shredded Coconut
  •     Third Layer:
  • 8 ounce Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1 lb Confectioners' sugar

Swedish Three Layer Bars

Directions

  1. First layer: Mix together the ingredients. Press into a 12- by 16-inch jellyroll pan or possibly cookie sheet. Bake 15 min in a preheated 300 F oven. Set aside to cold while you make the next layer.
  2. Second layer: Mix together the above ingredients. Top first layer. Bake in preheated 300 F oven for 15 min.
  3. Turn the heat up to 350 F and cook for 5 more min. Let cold while you make the top layer.
  4. Third Layer: Use a beater and mix together the cream cheese, butter and sugar. Spread on top of other two layers of cooled bars. Cold about an hour, then cut into shapes or possibly bars. Yields.
  5. Makes about 60 bars, depending onthe sizes you make
