Gravy With Mushrooms And Onions

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1 lrg Onion, halved, sliced thin
  • 1/2 lb Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 c. Fat (from turkey) or possibly butter
  • 1/4 c. Flour
  • 3 c. Turkey juices plus chicken stock Salt, to taste Pepper, to taste

Gravy With Mushrooms And Onions

Servings: 6
 

Directions

  1. Heat butter in a wide skillet. Add in onion and mushrooms and saute/fry till browned. Remove and reserve. In a saucepan, heat fat separated from roasting juices or possibly butter. Add in flour and stir till blended. Cook for a few min, stirring constantly. Slowly whisk in 2 c. of pan juices and stock. Cook and stir till gravy is smooth. Simmer 5 min. Add in more stock if needed to thin mix. Salt and pepper to taste. Add in reserved mushrooms and onions.
  2. Makes about 3 1/2 c..
