,%20the%20whole%20family%20would%20belly%20up%20to%20the%20bar%20and%20order%20ice%20cream%20cones.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20did%20moving%20to%20a%20real,%20genuinely%20hot%20Summer%20town%20like%20Sonoma%20dim%20my%20enthusiasm%20for%20ice%20cream?%20Not%20hardly.%20Whipping%20up%20ice%20cream%20for%20family%20parties%20and%20friends%20gatherings%20is%20one%20of%20my%20favorite%20things%20to%20do.%20But%20not%20everyone%20can%20enjoy%20ice%20cream,%20even%20if%20they%20want%20to.%20My%20friend%20Anne%20is%20lactose%20intolerant,%20my%20friend%20Terri%20is%20gluten%20free%20and%20just%20found%20out%20she's%20also%20allergic%20to%20eggs%20(except%20not%20duck%20eggs,%20sorry%20Daffy)%20and%20had%20to%20cut%20out%20dairy.%20This%20started%20me%20on%20a%20search%20for%20ice%20cream%20that%20my%20ice%20cream%20loving%20friends%20who%20have%20had%20to%20%22break%20up%22%20with%20ice%20cream%20could%20enjoy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20me%20say,%20there%20are%20a%20%20whole%20lot%20of%20vegan%20ice%20cream%20recipes%20out%20there.%20I'm%20not%20kidding.%20It's%20nuts%20out%20there.%20I%20found%20out%20that%20a%20whole%20lot%20of%20those%20recipes%20involved%20a%20very%20pricy%20blender%20device%20that%20seems%20to%20be%20all%20the%20rage%20right%20now%20and%20which%20I%20am%20too%20much%20a%20of%20a%20tightwad%20to%20buy.%20I%20finally%20settled%20on%20a%20very%20simple%20one%20that%20I'd%20found%20on%20many%20sites.%20And%20you%20know%20what%20they%20say,%20a%20million%20vegans%20can't%20be%20wrong.%20So,%20if%20you%20just%20want%20to%20make%20some%20vegan%20ice%20cream%20with%20a%20simple%20ice%20cream%20machine%20and%20a%20cheap%20ass%2020%20buck%20blender,%20this%20is%20your%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChocolate%20Almond%20Milk%20Vegan%20Ice%20Cream%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20What%20You%20Need:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20What%20To%20Do:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%201/2%20cup%20of%20almond%20milk%20together%20with%20the%20sugar%20and%20cocoa%20powder.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPop%20it%20into%20the%20microwave%20for%2030%20seconds,%20then%20take%20it%20out%20and%20give%20it%20a%20good%20stir%20blending%20it%20together%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPeel%20the%20bananas.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBreak%20them%20up%20and%20put%20them%20into%20a%20blender%20along%20with%20the%20cocoa%20sugar%20mixture,%20and%201%20cup%20of%20almond%20milk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlend%20it%20until%20it's%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20mixture%20into%20any%20ice%20cream%20machine%20and%20let%20it%20blend%20for%20about%2025%20minutes%20or%20until%20it's%20the%20desired%20thickness.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20it%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20ice%20cream%20has%20a%20nice%20deep%20chocolate%20banana%20flavor%20and%20really%20can%20do%20the%20trick%20for%20someone%20who%20wants%20their%20ice%20cream%20but%20either%20doesn't%20want,%20or%20can't%20have%20all%20the%20fat,%20and%20dairy.%20This%20makes%20about%204%20guilt%20free%20servings.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20be%20warned,%20this%20ice%20cream%20is%20best%20made%20and%20served%20directly.%20When%20stored%20in%20the%20freezer%20before%20serving%20it%20turns%20to%20icy%20stone.%20Truly.%20I%20found%20that%20out%20the%20hard%20way%20last%20Saturday%20night%20when%20I%20tried%20to%20serve%20it%20to%20friends.%20Good%20thing%20I%20had%20a%20back%20up%20dessert.%20This%20ice%20cream%20makes%20up%20so%20fast%20you%20can%20really%20just%20churn%20and%20burn%20and%20don't%20worry%20about%20left%20overs.%20There%20probably%20won't%20be%20any.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EComing%20up%20next,%20a%20book%20review%20and%20what's%20on%20for%20Mothers%20Day?%20Follow%20along%20on%20Twitter%20@kathygori%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
