Escalloped Apples

Ingredients

  • 2.89 #10 can red delicious apples, chld
  • 1 lb light brown sugar
  • 15 1/2 oz granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup and 3 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 15 1/2 oz margarine, melted
  • 4 3/4 oz cornstarch
  • 15 1/2 oz water
  • 4 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (2)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon (2)
  • 1/2# melted margarine (2)

Escalloped Apples

Directions

  1. Combine apples, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, and melted margarine. Simmer in kettle for 1 hour. Thicken with cornstarch and water mixture. Pour into 2.5 inch full sized pans.
  2. Mix bread crumbs, brown sugar (2), cinnamon (2), and margarine (2) to make crumb topping. Add to the top of each pan.
  3. Bake in convection oven at 300F for 1 hour.
  4. May be served warm (above 140F) or cold (below 40F).
