%20is%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emy%20idea%20of%20the%20perfect%20day.%20When%20I%20heard%20there%20was%20a%20cookbook%20called%20150%20Best%20Grilled%20Cheese%20Sandwiches,%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethought%20I%E2%80%99d%20stumbled%20upon%20the%20Holy%20Grail.%20I%20could%20eat%20grilled%20cheese%20sandwiches%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20ogle%20pictures%20of%20ooey-gooey%20grilled%20cheese%20at%20the%20same%20time?%20Heaven,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20so%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efast.%20There%20can%E2%80%99t%20possibly%20be%20150%20different%20grilled%20cheese%20sandwiches%20in%20this%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebook,%20I%20thought,%20picturing%20slices%20of%20American%20cheese%20oozing%20out%20of%20white%20bread.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell,%20there%20aren%E2%80%99t.%20At%20least,%20not%20in%20the%20form%20I%20expected.%20Is%20Grilled%20Heuvos%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERancheros%20on%20a%20flour%20tortilla%20really%20a%20grilled%20cheese%20sandwich?%20How%20about%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChorizo%20Melt?%20Sure,%20the%20recipes%20both%20contain%20cheese%20and%20are%20grilled;%20but,%20when%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethink%20of%20grilled%20cheese,%20Grilled%20Mascarpone,%20Banana%20and%20Honey%20is%20not%20what%20comes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20mind.%20Grilled%20cheese%20is%20supposed%20to%20be%20simple%20and%20remind%20you%20of%20childhood.%20A%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPear%20Ricotta%20Panini%20is%20a%20stretch.%20Then%20I%20thought%20more%20about%20it,%20and%20I%20realized,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewhy%20am%20I%20thinking%20so%20inside%20the%20box?%20%20Why%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eam%20I%20being%20a%20grilled%20cheese%20snob?%20Lasagna%20Grilled%20Cheese%20may%20not%20be%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Econventional%20but%20it%20sounds%20delicious.%20I%20think%20this%20cookbook%20could%20be%20more%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eaccurately%20titled%20150%20Best%20Grilled%20Cheese%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20Grilled%20Cheese-Inspired%20Sandwiches%20but%20I%20guess%20that%E2%80%99s%20too%20long%20of%20a%20title.%20Not%20quite%20as%20snappy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E150%20Best%20Grilled%20Cheese%20Sandwiches%20contains%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ean%20interesting%20array%20of%20sandwiches,%20ranging%20from%20the%20breakfast%20Grilled%20Egg,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheese%20and%20Bacon%20Biscuit%20to%20the%20dessert%20Tiramisu%20Grilled%20Cheese.%20The%20variety%20is%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eincredible.%20Sure,%20we%E2%80%99ve%20all%20had%20a%20breakfast%20sandwich%20with%20cheese%20but%20I%20never%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewould%20have%20thought%20of%20the%20Grilled%20Bacon%20and%20Fried%20Green%20Tomatoes%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eburning.%20The%20author%20continues%20the%20tips%20throughout%20the%20book%20and%20also%20includes%20sandwich%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eshortcuts.%20Again,%20some%20of%20these%20are%20%E2%80%9Cduh%E2%80%9D%20tips%20(gather%20ingredients%20before%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebeginning%20for%20time%20savings)%20but%20there%20are%20some%20valuable%20tips%20like%20grating%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Echeese%20over%20wax%20or%20parchment%20paper%20for%20easy%20transport%20and%20cleaning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20best%20part%20of%20the%20book%20is%20the%20condiments%20section%20which%20provides%20easy%20recipes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efor%20chutneys%20(Peach-Ginger%20Chutney),%20relishes,%20pesto%20(Roasted%20Asparagus%20Pesto%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esounds%20delicious)%20and%20various%20cheese%20spreads%20that%20you%20can%20add%20to%20sandwiches%20or%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Euse%20in%20other%20non-grilled%20cheese%20recipes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20I%20had%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20find%20fault%20with%20this%20cookbook,%20it%E2%80%99s%20that%20there%20are%20just%20not%20enough%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epictures.%20Sure%20I%20love%20reading%20new%20recipes,%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20always%20disappointing%20for%20me%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewhen%20the%20recipe%20is%20not%20accompanied%20by%20yummy-looking%20food%20photos.%20My%20favorite%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecookbooks%20have%20pictures%20for%20every%20recipe.%20I%20know%20this%20is%20not%20always%20practical%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eor%20possible%20but%20pictures%20make%20a%20huge%20difference,%20not%20only%20because%20they%E2%80%99re%20fun%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eto%20look%20at,%20but%20they%20also%20show%20how%20the%20finished%20product%20is%20supposed%20to%20look%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecan%20give%20readers%20an%20idea%20of%20how%20to%20plate%20the%20dish.%20For%20example,%20the%20Black%20Russian%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eis%20pictured%20with%20potato%20chips%20-%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eperfect%20accompaniment%20for%20a%20deli-style%20sandwich.%20The%20absolute%20best%20food%20photo%20in%20the%20book%20is%20the%20photo%20the%20author%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eused%20for%20the%20cover%20%E2%80%93%20the%20Classic%20Grilled%20Two%20Cheese%20sandwich%20with%20cheese%20oozing%20out%20the%20sides.%20YUM!%20This%20is%20also%20the%20only%20recipe%20I%20recognized%20as%20%E2%80%9Cgrilled%20cheese%E2%80%9D%20with%20simple%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eingredients%20of%20white%20or%20whole-grain%20bread,%20butter,%20muenster%20and%20cheddar%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewould%20be%20a%20great%20cookbook%20for%20someone%20who%E2%80%99s%20looking%20to%20add%20flavor%20and%20variety%20to%20their%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Elunch.%20It%20would%20also%20be%20a%20great%20cookbook%20for%20kids%20because%20it%20includes%20a%20lot%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efun%20recipes%20that%20involve%20just%20a%20few%20ingredients%20and%20are%20simple%20to%20put%20together.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20most%20people%20who%20have%20spent%20a%20lot%20of%20time%20in%20the%20kitchen%20aren%E2%80%99t%20going%20to%20get%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethat%20much%20out%20of%20this%20book.%20Still,%20I%20cannot%20fault%20a%20cookbook%20that%20devotes%20its%20pages%20entirely%20to%20my%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efavorite%20sandwich!%20If%20you%20love%20grilled%20cheese,%20you%E2%80%99ll%20love%20reading%20the%20different%20ways%20to%20put%20cheese%20to%20bread.%20But,%20next%20time,%20Alison%20Lewis,%20give%20us%20the%20goods%20%E2%80%93%20more%20ooey-gooey%20pictures!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
