Baker's Classic Fudge Frosting

Ingredients

  • 4 squares Baker's unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 pound (4 c.) confectioners' sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat chocolate in butter over very low heat, stirring till smooth. Remove from heat. Put together sugar, salt, lowfat milk and vanilla. Add in chocolate, blending well. If necessary, let stand till of spreading consistency, stirring occasionally. Spread quickly, adding a small amount of lowfat milk if frosting thickens. Makes about 2 1/2 cups, sufficient for top and side of 2 (8" or possibly 9") cakes.
