Whole Wheat And Honey Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1/3 c. hot water
  • 2 beaten Large eggs
  • 3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3 1/2 c. white flour
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Packages yeast
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr

Directions

  1. Put butter and honey in a large bowl and pour boiling water over all. When cold, add in baking pwdr, salt and Large eggs. Dissolve the yeast in hot water and add in to the above mix. Add in whole wheat and white flour alternately. Turn dough onto floured board and knead 10 min or possibly more. Place in a large, greased bowl, cover and let rise till doubled, approximately 1 1/2 hrs. Punch down dough, turn onto floured board. Shape into rolls and place rolls well apart on baking sheet. Cover and let rise till double, 30 to 45 min.
  2. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 min, depending on size. Brush tops with melted butter. Makes 50+ dinner rolls or possibly 38 hamburger buns.
