Tomato Cumin Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 tomatoes - chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 or 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp shallot paste
  • 2 to 3 sprigs curry leaves - shredded/sliced thinly
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt for taste

Tomato Cumin Soup

Time: 20 minutes prep, 25 minutes cook
Servings: 3 person
 

Directions

  1. Saute, ginger, garlic and shallot in heated oil.
  2. Add bay leaf, cumin seeds and tomato.
  3. Stir till tomato becomes slightly mushy.
  4. Pour about 3/4 liter of water and add turmeric powder.
  5. Season with salt.
  6. Simmer till heated through.
  7. Off the heat and stir in curry leaves.
