Ingredients

  • 1 LARGE BOX OF SALTINE CRACKER ALL 4 PACKS
  • 2 PACKAGES OF HIDDEN VALLEY RANCH SPICY OR
  • ORIGINAL SALAD DRESSING & SEASONING MIX DRY MIX
  • 2 CUPS OF CRISCO PURE VEGETABLE OIL OR A GOOD OIL

Directions

  1. PUT SALTINE CRACKERS IN A LARGE BAG 2 1/2 GAL ZIPLOCK OR JUMBO BAGS.
  2. ADD DRY SEASONING TO CRACKERS AND SHAKE.
  3. ADD 2 CUPS OF OIL AND ROLL THE BAG TO COAT CRACKERS, EVERY 15 MIN.SHAKE OR ROLE TO COAT.
  4. IT TAKES ABOUT 30 MIN. FOR OIL TO SOAK INTO CRACKERS
  5. THEN YOU CAN ADD MEAT, FISH, DIPS, DRIED FISH OR MEAT ON THEM OR EAT THEM PLAIN, THIS IS SO GOOD YOU CAN'T STOP EATING. THEY WORK GOOD ON SALADS.

      I just don`t get this one ... what do you do with the oil soaked crackers? do you bake them? fry them? I can`t imagine oil soaked crackers being tasty!

            Here in Louisiana we call them Cajun Crackers! We also add a tblsp of crushed red peppers for a little extra kick. It is such a crowd pleaser and makes great gifts for the holidays as well.

                no just put them in plastic bag and keep turning so that oil is absorbed--it does take overnight but they are delicious
