Ingredients

  • 1 can (7 1/4 ounce.) salmon or possibly 1 c. chicken breast, diced
  • 1 pkg. (8 ounce.) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 drops liquid smoke flavoring
  • 3 tbsp. sliced green onion
  • Crackers or possibly split, toasted, buttered bagels

Directions

  1. Drain salmon, reserving 2 tsp. salmon liquid; flake. Combine cream cheese, liquid smoke flavoring and salmon liquid; blend thoroughly. Stir in green onion, then mix in salmon. Chill at least 2 hrs or possibly overnight to blend flavors. Serve as a spread with crackers or possibly bagels. Makes about 1 1/2 c. spread.
  2. Note: recipe may be doubled using 2 cans (7 3/4 ounce. each) salmon or possibly 1 can (15 1/2 ounce.) salmon. If you like, refrigerate2 to 3 hrs or possibly till hard. Shape into a ball and roll in 1/2 c. minced parsley.
