Smashed Avocado

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Haas Avocados
  • 1 serrano chile
  • 1 lemon (zest and juice)
  • kosher salt

Smashed Avocado

Time: 15 minutes prep
 
 

Directions

  1. Open up avocados and scoop out the flesh into a non reactive bowl
  2. Cut the chile in half lengthwise, remove seeds as desired, chop very fine, and place with avocados.
  3. Zest one lemon and combine it with the avocados and chile.
  4. Then cut the lemon open and squeeze about half the juice (to taste) to the avocados, chile, and zest.
  5. Add a healthy pinch of salt
  6. Smash together with a work until smooth but chunky.
  7. Check seasoning and adjust with more salt or lemon juice as desired.

    Yum. This is also a good alternative to Guacamole. Easy to make, and if your avocados are fresh and good (like mine were), it'll be a knockout at your party.
