If there was a way that I could make this dish every week I would be in heaven.

Just think of all the recipes you could create from a home made slow cooker whole chicken.

I used an organic chicken because I like the smaller size, but hey, you can use any whole chicken you want.

Unfortunately, this time we had no leftovers since everyone seemed to want to devour it immediately. Maybe next time, I will place the chick in the slow cooker, but cook something else for dinner so I can definitely have that bird for the rest of week.

Here’s the deal with this chicken.

When you buy it at your local supermarket, it’s laden with grease. I will admit to having purchased whole cooked chicken from the market in the past and ended up being rather disappointed because they looked so greasy.

Lord, I have no idea why I waited so long to make my own. And trust me, doing it in the slow cooker is easy as pie. (now I don’t know why anyone thinks pie is easy to make).

Anyway, this was a nice switch from my Asian-themed dishes I have been serving up lately. Oh yeah, you can get the recipes for those roasted vegetables in the photo here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
