This is a simple cornbread dressing that is lightly but perfectly flavored.

Directions

  1. Prepare the dry corn bread mix according to package directions. Cool and crumble. (I like Trader Joe's cornbread). Ideally, do this a day in advance and let cornbread air-dry for 24 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter one 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter and saute the celery and onion until soft over medium heat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the celery, onions, 3 cups crumbled corn bread, eggs, chicken stock, sage and salt and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Place into dish and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30-35 minutes.

    I've always wanted to try cornbread dressing , this one is going to be made for Thanksgiving. It's just what I'm looking for!
