Secret Recipe Club Reveal Day: Homemade Fruit Snacks!

Happy Secret Recipe Club Reveal Day!! This month Colie’s

Kitchen had the honor of working in the kitchen of the Burnt

Apple.

It did not take long for me to pick the recipe I wanted to

make because I have been eyeing this recipe for months. I pinned it forever ago

but as life goes I put it off and put it off. You know one of those recipes you

keep bookmarking but yet never make it? I have a bad habit of that!

Luck would have it that I was given the opportunity to work in the Burnt Apple's Kitchen this month but after spotting their recipe called Zupas

Chicken Enchilada Chili Soup OH MY I was torn! How amazing does that sound? I debated

and debated over which one to make. I decided to go with the recipe I had been

holding on to for so long Homemade Fruit

Snacks!

First off how fun is that? Making your own fruit snack from

scratch, creating any flavor you can imagine, and better yet, not having to

imagine what nasty stuff is actually in your yummy fruit snack!

This recipe is awesome, fun and it’s delicious! I highly

recommend using grass fed gelatin and organic juice. If you are going to make

these yourself you want the best! If not it’s just as easy to buy them pre-made.

It’s worth a little work to make the best!

You will need molds which I purchased at Michael's for $1.99 each combined with a 40% off coupon. A sweet and yummy deal! You will need around 5 molds. I didn't buy enough! I only bought 3 then suddenly realized at the last second I didn't have enough.

I used a pan to make the remainder of the fruit snacks. Another tip is to be prepared to move fast. Have everything ready to go when you start or you will run into problems. Have fun and be creative you can even mix up different juice flavors to invent new flavors.

A big thank you to the Burnt Apple for allow Colie’s Kitchen

to take over their kitchen this month!! It was fun and delicious!

Directions:

In a saucepan add frozen concentrate juice, honey, and

gelatin.

Heat your saucepan on a medium heat, stirring with a whisk continuously

until the gelatin is dissolved.

Carefully pour the liquid into the molds, it works well with

an eye dropper or an icing bottle, but the icing bottle gets hot quickly so be careful!

Place molds in the refrigerator and allow the gelatin to set up. This will not

take long at all.

Once your fruit snacks set up remove them from the molds and

store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
