Sausage Stuffing (For 10 Lb. Turkey)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. finely minced celery
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 5 c. white bread crumbs (slightly stale)
  • 5 c. crumbled cornbread (made without sugar)
  • 1/2 pound fresh pork sausage, crumbled
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • 2/3 c. warm water

Directions

  1. In skillet, saute/fry onion and celery in warm butter. Dissolve bouillon cube in 2/3 c. warm water. Sprinkle over white and cornbread crumbs. Add in sauteed onion and celery.

  3. In skillet, saute/fry sausage till brown. Add in to crumb mix, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and Large eggs. Then add in sausage and drippings. Toss very well. Stuff turkey, and place remaining stuffing in small pan. Bake in uncovered pan last 45 min of turkey time at 325 degrees.
