Ingredients

  • 4 lb pears (whole, halved or possibly quartered)
  • 4 c. water
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 2 x lemons sliced thin
  • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon (optional)

Directions

  1. Boil 2 c. sugar and 2 c. water together for 15 min. Add in pears and sliced lemon and cook 15 min. Add in remaining sugar and water and cook till pears are clear and transparent and syrup is thick. Pack into clean, sterile warm Ball jars and seal at once. (of course any brand of jar will work. which also need to be Boiled in a Water Bath for 5 min)
