Pasta With Broccoli And Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. whipping cream
  • 3 x Large eggs
  • 1 1/2 lb Italian sweet sausage links,
  •     sliced into 1/4-inch pcs
  • 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 clv garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 c. broccoli florets
  • 1 1/2 c. (5 ounces) elbow macaroni or possibly
  •     shell macaroni
  • 1 c. grated Romano or possibly Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Pasta With Broccoli And Sausage

Directions

  1. Let the cream and Large eggs come to room temperature. In a small skillet cook the sausage slices till they are browned and cooked through.
  2. Drain off fat. Remove sausage and keep hot. In the same skillet cook mushrooms and garlic in butter till tender.
  3. Meanwhile, cook broccoli, covered, in a small amount of lightly salted boiling water about 8 min or possibly till tender. Drain. Cook macaroni according to package directions; keep warm.
  4. Beat together the whipping cream, Large eggs, cheese and pepper. Toss together the warm macaroni and the cream mix; stir in the mush- rooms. Arrange on a serving platter. Spoon broccoli and sausage atop. Toss slightly; serve at once.
  5. Makes 6 servings.
