  • 5 strips bacon cooked and crumbled (reserve fat)
  • 1 medium sweet onion (diced)
  • 1 green pepper (diced)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger (add another layer of spice without the heat)
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin (gives it a great earthiness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 1/2 cups white or blush wine (something good, you would drink)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
