orgazmic shrimp

A great appetizer, worth the effort of deviening & butterflying the shrimp, may have to slap fingers away while still hot, once people have had a taste. One 1 Lb batch should serve 4 diners (5 if you go with smaller shrimp)

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb FRESH Shrimp (16-20 count my favorite)cleaned, butterflied tails on
  • 3 Tbs unsalted butter gently melted in small bowl
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Smart choice Mayonaise in a frosting bag w/ med star tip
  • jar of paprika
  • Baking sheet

Directions

  1. Set oven to low broil( or @350 F) .(prep can be done ahead of time, just put in refridgerator until ready to broil)
  2. PREP: Dip each raw shrimp in the butter to coat lightly, set on baking sheet tail curled over top about 1/2 " apart. Take frosting bag w/ Mayo and star tip and put a small star on each shrimp at the middle of the butterflying but in front of the tail. sprinkle each star with paprika.
  3. COOK: Place baking sheet on middle rack of preheated oven close oven part way so as to watch Shrimp broiling. Dish is done when Shrimp has become all pinky white & tips of stars have gotten a clear or golden look to them, do not over cook, it will make them tough!( cooking time is different depending on size of shrimp)
  4. SERVE: Pull from oven and gently place on serving dish(the stars might try to fall off of the Shrimp if you are not careful. Serve as soon as it is plated.
