Ingredients
- scant 1/2 tbs. yeast
- 2 tbs. warm water (105-115 F)
- 1 tbs. sugar
- 2 1/2 cups AP flour
- 1/2 tbs. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup butter flavored Crisco
- 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup cold buttermilk

New Best Angel Biscuits
Time: 10 minutes prep, 15 minutes cook
Servings: 6
Directions
- Heat oven to 400 F.
- Proof the yeast with the warm water and sugar.
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Cut in Crisco and butter ( I just use a fork).
- Add buttermilk, stir until dough is just moistened.
- Knead 15-20 times.
- Pat into a circle 1/2-3/4 inches high.
- Cut with 2 1/2" biscuit cutter.
- Bake 12-15 minutes until tops are golden brown.

Summary
Wonderfully moist and light when first out of the oven. Butter and honey never had such a great companion.
