Directions

  1. Chicken: Pour enough oil to cover the bottom of a Frying pan. Cover chunks of chicken (we usually do an inch by an inch size chunks) in egg, then cover in Plain breading. Fry in frying pan until fully cooked and golden brown.
  2. Italian Sausage: Cut into small chunks. Boil for about 10 mins.
  3. Directions:
  4. Put into crock pot Breaded chicken, Italian sausage, and Pepperoni. Pour in Furmano’s Crushed Tomatoes (or something similar) and the water. Put the Fennel, Oregano, Basil, Rosemary, and Salt in the crock pot. Stir until seasons is mixed and crushed tomatoes covers everything. Pour a little bit of cheese ( only a sma ll amount) into the crock pot. Stir. Cover contents with remaining cheese, until the top is completely covered. Set on high for 3 hours.
  5. Serve over Penne noodles.

I've made this recipe two times. The first time I left it in the slow cooker the 3 hours and the second time it was getting late I served it earlier, but the spices didn't have enough time to fully soften so I would recommend leaving it in there the full time. It still tasted WONDERFUL!! When breading the chicken i put the breading in a tupperware container and once I'd dipped the chicken in the egg batter put a bunch in the container with the breading, put the lid on and shook it up....worked a bit faster than trying to turn the chicken with a tongs or fork.
    I've cooked/tasted this recipe!

Did not like the Fennel so will try it next time without it and also will add fresh garlic pressed.
