Directions

  1. Combine 2 Tbsp. sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Add in cool water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly till the mix is thick and clear. Cold completely.
  2. Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla till soft mounds hard. Gradually add in 6 Tbsp. sugar, one Tbsp. at a time beating after each addition. Add in cornstarch mix continuing beating till meringue stands in soft peaks. Spread on pie.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 min till golden.
