  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup English walnuts (lightly toast to enhance flavor)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. Kentucky bourbon (or pure vanilla extract)
  • ½ cup melted butter (1 stick--real butter, not margarine)
  • 1 ready-made 9" pie crust

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F
  2. Mix flour and sugar. Add eggs, then butter. Add nuts, chocolate chips, and bourbon (or vanilla extract). Mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour mixture into an unbaked pie shell. Mixture will be thick.
  4. Bake for ten minutes. Reduce heat to 350°F and continue baking for 35 minutes more.
  5. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
