Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound each of ground pork, ground veal and ground beef
  • 1, 3 inch piece of Italian bread, soaked in water until soft
  • 1 small onion, chopped\1 egg
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp of salt and pepper (or to taste)
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Pre-heat a non-stick frying pan on the stove to medium heat. Add about 1 tbsp of olive oil to the pan.
  2. Squeeze out water from bread and add it into a large bowl. To the bread, add the rest of the ingredients listed. Mix together well.
  3. Roll meat mixture into 1-2 inch balls.
  4. Fry until well browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes each side. Turn the meatballs on all 4 sides to brown.
  5. Add to your gravy and simmer for 2-4 hours, the longer they simmer, the better they will taste.
  6. Tip: Only add the meatballs you will be eating into your grave (sauce). Freeze the rest in a plastic zip top bag for later use.
