This is a great ways of spicing up old fashion baked beans works well served with chappati or on toast

  • 1 t/bsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp jeera (cumin) seeds whole
  • 1 medium onion or 1/2 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 chillies cut in piece seeded removed
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp dhanna jeera powder (Corriander and cumin seed roasted and crushed
  • 2 large cans of your favourite baked beans

Directions

  1. Safest way to remove the seeds from the chilli, cut the down the middle holding on to the stalk use the tsp to scrap out the seeds. Remember to wash your hands before you touch your eyes or any other parts of your body
  2. 1. In a sauce pan add the oil and wait for the oil to warm through before adding the jeera once it start to crack add the onions and stir until soft
  3. 2. Add the chilli pieces and stir, mean while open the two tins of beans and on top of can added the other spices and then add to the pan
  4. 3. Mixed well and add half a can of water stir continously maing sure the sauce doesn't boil.
  5. 4. The beans are ready to eat
