,%20I%E2%80%99m%20trying%20to%20get%20Obie%20T.%20Dogg%20used%20to%20the%20area.%20%20He%20still%20does%20not%20like%20to%20spend%20any%20amount%20of%20time%20in%20the%20house%20we%20are%20remodeling,%20but%20he%20loves%20the%20walks.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEl%20Dorado%20Trail,%20Placerville,%20CA%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20particular%20trail%20is%20an%20old%20railroad%20route.%20When%20I%20was%20a%20very%20young%20child%20we%20lived%20up%20this%20hill%20on%20the%20left.%20%20I%20was%20always%20very%20curious%20about%20the%20railroad%20tracks%20because%20a%20train%20would%20go%20by%20there%20twice%20a%20day%20or%20so.%20%20My%20mom%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20let%20me%20go%20down%20and%20explore%20because%20she%20said%20there%20were%20%E2%80%9CHobos%E2%80%9D%20down%20there%20and%20it%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20a%20good%20place%20for%20a%20kid%20to%20be.%20%20My%20next%20door%20neighbor%20and%20I%20used%20to%20take%20pieces%20of%20cardboard%20and%20slide%20down%20this%20hill,%20unbeknownst%20to%20my%20parents.%20%20I%20never%20saw%20a%20Hobo%20but%20I%20did%20see%20a%20lot%20of%20empty%20liquor%20bottles%20and%20cigarette%20butts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEl%20Dorado%20Trail%20near%20Missouri%20Flat%20Road%20in%20Placerville%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20trail%20is%20quite%20long%20and%20you%20can%20join%20it%20in%20many%20different%20places.%20%20Sometimes%20it%20goes%20over%20highway%2050.%20%20Obie%20T.%20did%20not%20like%20going%20over%20the%20freeway%20and%20so%20I%20probably%20won%E2%80%99t%20take%20him%20back%20this%20way.%20%20But,%20there%20are%20miles%20and%20miles%20of%20trail%20to%20walk%20or%20ride%20your%20bike%20or%20horse%20on%20The%20El%20Dorado%20Trail.%20%20It%20is%20a%20beautiful%20refurbished%20trail%20now%20and%20you%20will%20thoroughly%20enjoy%20the%20walk%20and%20your%20dog%20will%20thank%20you%20by%20licking%20your%20face.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEl%20Dorado%20Trail%20over%20Highway%2050%20just%20out%20of%20Placerville%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%E2%80%99s%20the%20Recipe%20from%20Facebook:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHomemade%20Ranch-Style%20Buttermilk%20Salad%20Dressing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%20for%20basic%20mix%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20all%20ingredients%20together%20until%20well%20mixed.%20%20Chill%20for%201%20hour.%20Keep%20covered%20in%20refrigerator.%20%20Makes%202%203/4%20cups%20dressing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20in%20the%20herb%20mix%20with%20the%20fresh%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20prefer%20to%20exclude%20the%20dried%20dill%20weed%20and%20add%20in%20fresh%20chopped%20dill%20weed%20when%20I%20made%20the%20salad%20dressing.%20%20Also,%20I%20used%20whole%20black%20peppercorns%20that%20I%20crushed%20myself%20before%20adding%20to%20the%20mix.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20dressing%20is%20thick%20and%20rich%20and%20tastes%20fresh.%20%20Adding%20it%20to%20a%20fresh%20salad%20makes%20a%20very%20satisfying%20meal.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd,%20if%20you%20have%20something%20quick%20to%20eat%20then%20you%20can%20stay%20out%20a%20little%20longer%20and%20catch%20the%20sun%20going%20down%20at%20one%20of%20your%20favorite%20wineries.%20%20This%20one%20happens%20to%20be%20Boeger%20Winery%20in%20Placerville,%20the%20oldest%20winery%20in%20the%20California%20Gold%20Rush%20Area%20and,%20I%20think,%20it%E2%80%99s%20the%20prettiest%20one%20in%20the%20area.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20vineyard%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESome%20of%20the%20old%20buildings%20on%20Boeger%20Property%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPicnic%20area%20at%20the%20winery%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20colors%20were%20absolutely%20spectacular%20in%20El%20Dorado%20County%20this%20fall.%20%20To%20see%20more%20of%20my%20photos%20of%20the%20area,%20you%20can%20visit%20my%20Flickr%20Page%20or%20follow%20me%20and%20Yes!Chef!%20on%20Instagram%20(look%20along%20the%20righthand%20side%20of%20this%20blog%20page%20for%20links.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh!%20%20You%20can%20also%20use%20this%20mix%20as%20a%20dip%20or%20a%20dipping%20sauce%20for%20chicken%20fingers,%20if%20you%20like.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20a%20little%20bowl%20of%20dressing%20on%20the%20side%20so%20guests%20can%20serve%20themselves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
