Grannys Gingerbread

This was my great- grandmas recipe it is one of the best ive ever had

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups ap flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 lg egg room temp

Directions

  1. preheat oven to 350
  2. grease and flour a 9x9 pan
  3. in a large bowl add molasses and boiling water stir until dissolved
  4. add the rest of the ingredients to molasses
  5. beat on low until well blended constantly scraping bowl
  6. increase speed to high and beat about 2 minutes
  7. pour batter into prepared pan
  8. bake 30-40 or until toothpick comes out clean
