Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. melted shortening
- 2 1/2 c. chunky applesauce with 3 teaspoon soda in it
- 1 c. (or possibly more) raisins
- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice

Grandma Jessie's Applesauce Raisin Cake

Directions
- Combine sugar, melted shortening, applesauce-soda mix and let sit till foamy. Sift together flour, salt, and spices. Stir in raisins. Add in to first mix, stir till blended. Put into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake pan and bake at 350 degrees ONLY till edges pull away from pan (approximately 45 min.) Don't overbake. Cold and frost with Buttercream frosting.
