  1. Proof the yeast. Put the next 10 ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.
  2. When cooled, stir in the starter and whole wheat flour. Beat well. Add in the bread flour a c. at a time till dough comes away from the side of the bowl. Knead for 10 min on a floured board. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover, let rise till doubled in size. Punch down and form into 3 balls.
  3. Cover and let rest for 10 min. Form into oblong loaves and place on greased cookie sheets. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds. Cover and let rise till doubled. Bake at 400 degrees F for 30 - 40 min.
