French Toasted Ham And Cheesesandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2 T orange marmalade
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 (8 ounce) pkg. sliced ham
  • 1 (8 ounce) loaf party rye bread slices
  • 1/2 (8 ounce) pkg. sliced Swiss cheese
  • 2 T butter
  • 1/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. About 40 min before serving: In cup, stir marmalade and mustard till well mixed; set aside. Cut ham slices to fit on half of the bread slices; cut cheese slices to arrange on top of ham; then top with a dollop of marmalade mix and another bread slice.Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pan, heat butter; remove pan from oven. In pie plate with fork, beat lowfat milk and egg till well mixed. Dip sandwiches, one at a time, into egg mix to coat on all sides. Place sandwiches, in one layer, in jelly roll pan.
  2. Bake sandwiches till golden on both sides, about 20 min, turning once. Cut each sandwich in half. Serve hot.
