Flank Steak Marinated Asian-Style

Time: 10 minutes prep, 10 minutes cook
Servings: 4-6

Directions

  1. In a large zip-top bag, combine all ingredients except for a couple of tablespoons of the green onion. Squeeze out the excess air and seal closed. Refrigerate for 12-24 hours.
  2. Preheat grill to medium high.
  3. Remove the steak from the marinade. Grill on both sides for 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can broil the meat for 5 minutes on each side. Remove from heat and let rest for 10 minutes. When ready to serve, thinly slice and serve with jasmine or short grain japanese rice, brown or white. Garnish with the remaining green onion.

This was really simple and the steak came out incredibly tender. We bought a good quality flank steak - which helped. But I think that the marinading process may also have helped tenderize the meat.

This was amazingly tender and really flavorful. We served with a mix of brown and white rice. Delicious!

We were surprised at how flavorful this was. I've bought the premarinated trader joes meat and used soyaki but this was far better. I didn't have the green onions (used a quarter red onion) or lemongrass but still very tasty!

I must try this as I do not have a good recipe for flank steak. Thank you.
