Favorite Recipes from 2012 Recipe
by Kara Cook

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was nice and relaxing, spent with just my family and my parents. We missed all the cousins, aunts, and uncles, but my kiddos sure enjoyed the one on one time with grandma and grandpa!

As the year winds down, I thought I’d share some of my favorites from 2012. Today I’m highlighting some of my favorite recipes, I’ll feature my favorite projects tomorrow.

Chocolate Lava Cake

I love how this dessert looks plain jane sitting on the plate, and then you break it open and all that chocolate-y goodness oozes out. Serious wow factor. And as a bonus, it’s easy to make!

Easier Chicken Cordon Bleu

Discovering this trick for making Chicken Cordon Bleu without all the swearing was pretty epic, at least in my little kitchen!

Smore’s Bars

Um, ooey, gooey chocolate and marshmallows stuffed inside delicious graham crust. . . with no fire/smoke smell required. I am so totally there!

Amazing Steak Marinade

I am not a huge red meat fan. Steak has to be fantabulous for me to really enjoy it. This marinade is the best I have ever tried!

Strawberry Cheesecake Crepes with Nutella

Fresh strawberries, cream cheese, and nutella all wrapped in a delicious homemade crepe. Pretty much makes you want to lick your plate clean.

Ranch Crock Pot Pork Chops

Easy and delicious, these pork chops are a busy mom’s dream. Apparently all of you agreed, because you pinned the heck out of this post. Thank you.

Black Bean Salsa Chicken

Another quick and easy meal, but with chicken. Just made it the other night, and we had forgotten just how yummy it really is. I need to make it more often.

Maple Blondies with Maple Cream Sauce

These bars don’t call for any fancy ingredients, but they sure make you feel like you’re eating dessert in a fancy restaurant. The homemade sauce is amazing!

Snickerdoodle Bread

Wild Rice Ham Soup

I am always on the lookout for a new soup recipe, and this one is different from the other soups in my rotation. Love the flavor and crunch from the wild rice and the almonds!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Pudding Cookies

Pudding mix makes soft and chewy cookies every time. Load them up with chocolate and peanut butter, and it’s a match made in heaven.

Mint Chocolate Cupcakes with Fudge Filling

I love the combination of chocolate and mint, so I loved these cupcakes. And because I finally mastered the art of cake decorating tips, they also happen to be some of the prettiest cupcakes that I have ever made.

Chocolate Mousse Layer Cake

I don’t really have words for this one.

There you have it, some of my very favorite recipes from 2012. Which one looks the yummiest to you?
