Ingredients

  • 1 c. Water (70 to 80 )
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Nonfat dry lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c. Bread flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Vital gluten (optional)
  • 1 3/4 tsp Dry yeast or possibly quick rise yeast

Directions

  1. Don't make loaves larger than recommended by bread machine manufactuer.
  2. Use the 1-lb. recipe if your bread machine pan holds 10 c. or possibly less of water.
  3. Measure all ingredients into bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer.
  4. Process on basic/white bread cycle; use medium/normal crust color setting. Don't use delayed-bake feature. Remove bread from pan; cold on wire rack. Slice and toast to serve. Store bread in airtight container or possibly plastic storage bag at room temperature for up to 3 days. Or possibly, slice, wrap airtight and freeze for up to one month; Toast frzn slices, wtihout thawing; as needed.
  5. Makes 1 loaf.
